1. Snakes in the City Meet & Greet
If you’re intrigued by snakes and reptiles, you don’t want to miss this Meet & Greet!
On the 4th of December, Simon and Siouxie from Snakes in the City (as seen on National Geographic Wild) will be coming to Ndlondlo Reptile Park from 10 am to 1 pm. During this time, you’ll have the chance to meet some of these slithering beauties.

2. Lunch With Elvis and Friends
Ready for an epic blast from the past with the King of Rock & Roll?
Don’t miss the Lunch With Elvis and Friends at La Montagne Resort on the 4th of December at 12 pm. Enjoy this real-life tribute to Elvis and other rock & roll legends featuring songs like Blue Suede Shoes, Suspicious Minds, JailHouse Rock, and much more!
Tickets are R300 (including lunch) and are only available with online bookings at pumpkintheatre.co.za.
3. Jack and the Beanstalk Productions
Join Durban’s best-loved actors for a magical theatre production of the famous fairy tale “Jack and the Beanstalk”. Hosted by KicksArt, this production will take you on a mystical adventure filled with toe-tapping songs, jokes, slapstick, romance, fantastic sets, and fantasy costumes!
The production will take place from the 8th of December to the 15th of January. Tickets are available at Computicket at R130–R250 per ticket.
4. Christmas Cookie and Gingerbread House Class
Make the most of this festive season by spending time with your kids decorating Christmas cookies, cupcakes, and gingerbread houses. Breadologie, Sheffield Beach, is hosting two separate events:
- The Gingerbread House Decorating Class is on the 8th of December from 10 am to 12 pm (at R350 per person).
- The Christmas Cookie Class is on the 15th of December from 10 am to 12 pm (at R300 per person).
Be sure to book your spots early on since there’s limited space available.
5. Steve Hofmeyer Live
Are you a huge Steve Hofmeyr fan?
Enjoy Steve’s live performance with some of his most famous songs at La Montagne Resort on the 16th of December at 7:30 pm.
Delectable food and beverages will be on sale at the event. Tickets are R230 per person. Children under the age of 5 get free entry.

6. iHeart Market
If you love looking at creative, handmade crafts and want to support crafters, artists, and traders, then you should head over to iHeart Market. The Market will occur at Sugar Rush Park on the 3rd, 10th, and 17th of December and the 7th of January.
From jewellery, accessories, visual arts, clothing, decor, ceramics, deli foods, baked goods, and much more, you’re sure to find something special (or delicious) for yourself or a loved one.
7. Umgeni Steam Railway Holiday Trips
Does a fun-filled day driving on an 84-year-old Steam Engine sound like something you want to experience?
Umgeni Steam Railway offers you and your family the chance to take a 1 hour and 15-minute ride, going along the hills of Natal through one of the oldest functioning tunnels in SA.
During the trip, you’ll have a breathtaking view of the Valley of 1000 Hills. Before or after the ride, you can browse through the Inchanga Station Craft Market, where various treasures are on sale, and you can also visit the Inchanga Railway Museum.
Trips will take place on 15–17 December (Santa will be on board during these days), the 26th of December, and 7–8 January 2023. Tickets for adults are R170 per person and R110 for pensioners over 60 and children aged 2–12.
8. Litchi Picking
If you’re ready to sink your teeth into some of the most delectable, fresh, juicy litchis, don’t miss the Litchi Picking Event at Sunhill Orchards.
This event will take place from 16–31 December (except for Christmas day). You can come daily from 8 am – 3 pm (8 am – 12 pm on 24 and 31 December).
For only R150 per ticket for adults and R50 per ticket for kids under 3–years, you can hang out all day in the orchards, munch litchis as you pick, and take up to 1.6kg of litchis home with you.
9. Ballito’s 300th Parkrun
Attention all runners! If you’re in the mood for an awesome family day filled with running and breathtaking scenery, you might consider going to Ballito’s 300th Parkrun.
The event will take place on the 17th of December at Sugar Rush KwaZulu-Natal. You’ll be running on the beautiful Holla Trials and will even have the chance to win excellent hampers! These include hampers for:

- Best entrance
- Cutest dog
- And much more!
10. Pop-Up Shop
If you enjoy buying handmade goods and going to markets, the Pop-Up Shop market is ideal! This Christmas market is taking place at Sugar Village and will be open from the 22nd of November to the 20th of December.

12. Brendan Peyper Live

The event will be happening on the 30th of December and will start at 8:30 pm. Tickets are R200 per person, and children under 5 get free entrance.
