Peron Peron
Just across the walkway from 45 on Eat Street is Peron Peron. This intimate steakhouse is owned and run by Hugo Palacio, who was born in Argentina and has spent the last 30 years bringing the taste of his homeland to South Africa. Peron Peron is known for its excellent steaks that are cooked to perfection over an open fire. All of the meat is responsibly sourced from the Midlands and then dry or wet-aged for at least 30 days to enhance the flavour. Try a T-bone or the picana steak with a traditional chimichurri sauce for a true taste of Argentina. Request an outdoor table on the weekends and enjoy live music from some of the best local musicians. The wine list includes options from Argentina and South Africa.
Tasos
Tasos is located on the beachfront and offers expansive ocean views from every table in the restaurant. Request a table on the deck and enjoy the sea breeze whilst you relax with a glass of wine or a craft beer. Tasos specializes in steak dishes, however, the menu is extensive and you are sure to find something to suit your meal preferences. The 800g Tomahawk steak is one of the most popular dishes on the menu, other highlights include camembert cheese starter, the lamb curry, and the prawn tempura.
Fiamma Grill
Fiamma Grill is situated one street back from the beach at the Coco de Mer Boutique Hotel. Book a table next to the Koi Ponds for unique entertainment while you eat. Tables towards the front of the restaurant offer tranquil ocean views. The service at this restaurant is always excellent and it is a popular date night option for locals and visitors alike. The main menu focuses on Italian dishes with a modern twist. Highlights include the Coco de Mer pizza, pasta scampi, and wood-roasted baby chicken. The sushi is some of the best sushi in Ballito and is definitely worth a try if you enjoy seafood. The wine list has options to suit every taste and budget.
